Part of me says, just eat what you want to eat. After all, it is not WHAT you eat so much as HOW you eat it!.. Whatever you do eat what you want.

It is quite easy to eat with good manners but forget to cover your mouth when you belch, talk with your mouth full, preferably spewing the occasional small chunk of matter towards your partner. Be a tad messier than usual, with whatever you eat. Spill your water. Cheerfully asking "May I?" as you spear a tasty bite from your date's plate before he can respond, is also a winning move especially if you have the sniffles.

If I did not want to see this person again, I would order a soup to slurp genteelly, a sloppy pasta to perhaps run down my chin and/or slide off my fork, followed by a good desert. Provided, of course, that the meal has lasted this long.

If I did want to see the person again, I would order something that can be eaten delicately with the fingers .... with a touch of seduction thrown in. Chicken wings, asparagus, artichokes, come first to mind. It is easy to innocently lick one's fingers with finesse. There is always ice cream! Throw in a little eye contact and you are on your way.

Of course, none of these actions are separate; they are just a natural part of a lovely meal spiced with much laughter and sparkling conversation. Either way, in both situations, it helps if you don't drink.

If you don't want to go out again eat whatever tastes the best...who cares, you're not going out again.

If you do want to go out again, avoid difficult or messy foods. Spaghetti is a big no no, and things like lobster and crab are hard to eat and look good. Also garlic and onions are bad, especially if you kiss on the first date. You can never go wrong with a good salad, fillet mignon, and creme brulee with coffee for desert.

how do you know you do not want to go out with him again when you have not gone out with him yet. If you already know that, then why are you going on a first date

If you do not want to go out with him again eat lots of garlic and onions...that's sure to keep him away! LOL Just kidding. You should eat whatever you like on either occasion. Just eat like a civilized person, no gulping or stuffing it in your mouth...take human bites! And please do not eat off your dates plate!

If you do not wish to see the person again, eat those foods which are most likely to give you bad bodily wind. Never fails.

Depends where we go. If its an american place or a family-style place (like T.G.I Friday's or Applebee's) then I would probably get a burger or chicken tenders.
