Is there a difference between
the drug user who uses drugs in his/her home and the one who uses drugs on the street?

Answer one or both questions. I'm just curious.

In reality there is no difference. But if you look at it logically, most people that drink or take drugs at home usually have a job. They are able to pay their bills and take care of home. The people in the streets resort to robbing or picking pockets to maintain their habit.
But at the end, the people that do do it at home one day they might drink or take drugs, until their money they make doesn't last any longer. And finally, they will be the same people that are on the streets now. If you stop and talk to some of those people that live in the streets, most of them had families and jobs and lost it all because of the abuse of drug and alcohol. I have and most of them give me the same story.
So for now, that person that still lives at home has a chance not to go to that extreme, with some kind of intervention.

You mean is one or the other a better choice?

Staying home would be the safest, but none of the choices are the smartest.

As for a difference, just the locale, for the behavior is ridiculous on all accounts.
