just customize it to the specs above & u'll get u'r answer !

why's u spending so much on an old notebook, when a new one with vastly superior specs & a full year of warranty costs only extra $ 72

<< besides, used notebooks r always dicey., faults start surfacing only after a few days of intense use >>

Depends how old, depends how treated, depends how much you'd have to pay for a new one (of better spec) in your market.

Remember the following:
1) Lithium batteries rot (you lose at least 20% capacity a year even with the best care). You want it to last, add the price of a new battery.
2) IBM / Lenovo notebooks are not tough, so if it's been used much for travelling bits will be breaking inside. The keyboard will be worn (I reckon on 2 years on a laptop keyboard if you've got nails before the letters are worn)
3) As I discoverd on my work IBM... NO SERIAL PORT. If you need one and it's missing one... you're stuck if you buy it.
4) Probably no warranty.

If you can get the same or better for not much more then buy new. Do you need a laptop or should you buy a desktop? They're cheaper... and tougher.

you first thk about the useage time then you can realise the price will be best or not. Bcz 500 X 45 =22500/- is not a small amout to spent.
