1) Do macs ever experience laggy performance? (Or does the UI always seem to make things very fast? Lol)
2) Why macs always seem to be more expensive when you compare them with the normal PC with the same specs?
3) Is there any reason why I should buy a Mac if I want to get a new PC?

Forget the last answer. 1) Sometimes they lag, but anytime you have a lot of tasks going on it taxes the processor and slows it down some. But the Mac's architecture allows the more commonly used tasks to have priority over smaller ones.

2) You're getting the most secure operating system out there, and the most elegant graphics as well. You can upgrade Macs extensively. You can take any PC keyboard and reconfigure it to work with a Mac even if the keyboard isn't advertised as being Mac compatible. I even bought a wireless card from Motorola that wasn't advertised as being Mac-compatible. But I installed the card, turned on the Mac, and it recognized the card right away without the need for drivers.

3. The new Macs use Intel chips, so you can run both Windows and the Mac OS simultaneously. Now you can utilize the large database of games and apps for the PC out there, as well as having the security of the Mac operating system. As long as you're running Mac OS X you won't have malware, spyware or the like, something that's plagued PCs for years.

1. Macs do sometimes lag, but simply rebuilding the hard drive or defragging should take care of it.
2. Macs are mainly more expensive because of their exclusiveness. IBM compatibles (windows based machines) are basically pieced together by several different companies, machine by dell, OS by microsoft and so forth. This cuts production costs, but also causes lower efficiency. Mac, on the other hand, does all of its own work, and while, as you have said, this does make them more expensive, you get a more seamless, efficient machine.
3. I would not suggest buying anything other than a Mac, for any reason, especially now that they have the Intel based chip, enabling you to run windows on your Mac, thereby voiding any compatibility problems.

!) Not sure, not used one since High School.
2)They usually come out decked out with the latest hardware and such BUT since they are so proprieary and integrated they get obsolete quick and you can't upgarde them much.
3)macs are great for graphics - CADD and such. If you are number crunching for business, a gamer, then get a IBM Compatible PC.

They do not start to lag as fast as a normal PC. They are better machines though.. As with anything, you have to maintain it to keep it at its peak efficiency.
