Anything from Sony is good and reliable but you also pay a premium. Dell makes good laptops as well... modular harddrive, CD/DVD Rom drives etc make it easy to swap and upgrade HDD if it fails or you need a larger upgrade. Processors Intel Dual Core 2 is the latest.
