contact the North South Skirmish Association or the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War as they can help get you in touch with local people.

Look on line for various Civil War organizations in your area. you might have an easier time finding a federal unit than a Confederate one but not necessarily. Look at the requirements that you will find listed on the various unit websites, go to the national civil war organizations web sites as well. Civil war reenactment can be a very pricey activity even at the entry level. Many units have a small store of loaner equipment available to new recruits. All have standards of equipment, knowledge and deportment and safety that you will have to be willing to meet before you will get to participate much in public. I'm sure that you will receive an answer from someone who is active in this branch of the hobby who my be able to direct you more specifically. I personally work in several different periods. The English Renaissance, The English Civil War, Early California, and later Western History. Historical reenactment is a very rewarding hobby. It has been my abiding passion for more than thirty years.

The closest I could come was this group of Civil War reenactors in Cleveland. Perhaps you could contact them and find out if they know of another group in Columbus -- and if not, perhaps they could give you insight as to how you might form one yourself.

Good luck. Hope this helps. Cheers, mate

By bringing cultural, ethnic and religious discriminations and making a troop who will follow you and fighting against other troops would make your mission complete.
