Mothers - would you use a service to provide you with help when you are too busy or ill to cope?

You have a migraine and all you want to do is sleep. The kids need picking up, dinner needs making, clothes ironed, house tidies etc etc. What about if there was an emergency home help service where someone could come in and do all those chores for you for a day to let you sleep and recover. You would pay a monthly subscription , like you do to the AA or RAC. You would provide a 'bible' of information on the workings of the house etc etc etc which you would provide to the company which i am calling at the moment 'Home Angels'. Obviously the home help would be screened for suitability and would be trustworthy.

Good idea?

Would be MUCH cheaper than a childminder. There would be a clause in the contract about how often the service could be used.

Some good feedback so far. Probably would be a minimum monthly subscription then just pay as you use!

I dont think the monthly fee thing would work, cos some people would take advantage of that.
Say everyone paid £50 per month, some people would call you out once in that month, but others would think that they could do it all the time and have you there every other day!

That sounds like a great idea...I'd use you! There are some days where i feel i've gotten behind with things and i need the kids, the hubby, everyone OUT of the house to enable me to catch up..It would be nice to have someone tajke over for awhile here to allow me to go out on those days and take a breather, not ave to be back to pick the kids up from school etc, then, to be able to come home and have all those things 'done'..It's a bit like a child minding, taxi service and housekeeper all rolled into one...I don't think the monthly subsciption would work though as some (ME included lol) might abuse the system...I think they should pay at the end of the month for the days-hours they have used....
Good luck...sounds great...
