Whenever someone asks me how i like the newest 20 something beauty sensation in movies or somewhere else my response is almost always the same. She is beautiful but she is lacking something. I see it when I compare, let's say, Jessica alba to Angelina Jolie. The younger girl is missing something. I sometimes think that maybe part of it is that femininity is becoming more childlike. So what do you think. Do you feel like many of these early 20 something beauties lack the female charisma of women in times and decades past.

Some folks ain't gonna like this. Here is the problem with a lot of young girls now. They don't seem to have a lot going on between there ears. They seem to be book smart but life dumb. Also so naive it is almost unbelievable. Look at Britney Spears. What a mess.

Women now go straight from chiild to asexual adult. There is no generally-accepted female adult role. Adult women are really just a variety of adult men.

Socially they aim at a male-type role.
In dress they effectively wear whatever men will wear if they choose to.
The only female distinctive adult women insist on is breasts
Women even shave openly -- even shave a moustache.
Probably with increasing nutritional levels women ARE physically more like men than in previous generations.

The concept of growing from child into an adult woman with a role totally distinct from that of men has more or less disappeared.

On the other hand, what an opportunity that gives to a girl who fancies being something other than a surrogate man and who sets out to make a "career" of it" She can have the world at her feet without even trying hard!

Women of the past had some mystery, mystique, and glamor. These days everything is out in the open with Paparazzi and people readily making their lives available (reality TV shows).

I guess it depends on how old you are now...historical reference would help.

Me...I was in my 20's thirty years ago and yes in my historical perspective the women in the 70's we different then those today. But personally I wouldn't evaluate the women in their 20's today based solely on movie actors or celebrities....that's not the average woman in any generation.
