That's a good saying.

The mind is developed to respond through instinct. Much as a dog chases a ball, because dog's are born to chase prey. The human mind has developed to protect the body and thus survive.

The 'heart' or the wellspring inside of us that is full of understanding, forgiveness, grace, kindness, etc.... is the stopping point whereby our instincts are measured and comprehended.

If for example a person breaks into your house and steals some clothes and food - the natural instinct might be to find that person and beat them up, thereby protecting your property from further damage and your family from danger.

Where the heart plays into this drama, is when you stop to think about why the person stole clothing and food. It dawns on you that they must have been cold and hungry. The heart is like a traffic signal - controlling the instincts. So what our hand (actions) would naturally do through instinct, our heart can be trained to descern whether instincts should be followed or not.

I hope that makes sense.

1) Without understanding something by heart, you can not do it properly.
2)Without the heart, you wouldn't be alive so definitely there would be no understanding between the mind and the hand.
* number 3 is related to music
3)Without understanding your piece by heart, you can't play it well.

I guess it means;
The hand is the sense, the physical feeling of, say the fur of a cat. Physical senses.
The mind is the thought process of thinking; how soft is the cat's fur. Intelligent thought.
The heart is the feeling; how I love the soft furriness of the lovely little cat. Love, emotions.

with out oxygen neither the brain nor the hand would be able to work and we know that the heart pumps the blood to the body and the blood carries the oxygen that's why without the heart there would be no understanding between the hand and the mind

Haha zellparis.

But seriously it means that without an emotional reaction to a physical act the mind would have no way of being influenced by that act.
