My son is 6 months old now. He has had "sticky" right eye since he was 3 months old. The health visitot told me it was nothing to worry about, that it would go when he gets stronger. On our recent holiday it became worse than usuall(his eye kept filling with pus constantly), so we went to see doctor, which gave us antiseptic eye drops and advised we should go for proper examination when we get back to UK. We did go to see doctor, but just got another bottle of eye drops. Did any of you have similar trouble? Should I be worried?

eye infection is common these days in babies...when mine got one at birth i was advised to use tea leaves. you boil tea and let it cool down once warm get aclean softcloth white preferably or cotton wool and dip it in the water and clean his or her eye.

u will see change in aweek...or else u cld get the babies morning urine and use that for the infection believe me it magical u will see or hear of no infection no more. eye drops dont really work well on babies atleast if ur to use any medicine then go with tectracycline its in ayellow tube after cleaning ur child's eye with warm water with salt, u shld boil the salt in water not put it in directly after water has boiled..then apply the tectracycline its in all pharmacies.

It sounds like conjunctivitis it's very common in kids especially There is an old wives tale that seems to work for my friends and family.....squirt some breast milk in it, I'm not joking, it sounds weird but it works just try and get a drop in (it can't do any damage anyway ) try it and you'll see it really works

I had this same problem, conjunctivitis. They told me to wipe it off with a warm cloth, use cool tea bags, etc... etc... Finally 7 babies later, I found the cure from the Saudi Arabian mothers. Squirt some breast milk on a clean cloth and wipe eye or squirt directly onto the eye. Your baby will never have it again.

My son got a clogged tear duct. I used antibiotic drops for that. It cleared right up. When you wash his face, make sure not to use the same part of the wash cloth on the uninfected eye, you don't want it to spread. When his eye gets yucky, use a warm wash cloth to clean it. Also, make sure not to touch it with your fingers.

No don't be worried. It's very common "problem". What I did to my children is followed my granny's advice and I was doing compress with bourtree decoction.

Breast milk, (sounds weird, I know!) helps to clear up eye infections. Good luck!

you may need to switch to a different eye drop if that one doesn't work.

Find another doctore to go to and get another opinion. Make sure to keep it clean at all times. Maybe go to the hospital and have them check it out
