It is best never served.... just quietly discarded.

The feeling of revenge is just a mental reaction to something we think has been done wrong to us. The reaction in the mind is an instinctive protective mechanism against the feeling of loss or damage. It fulfills its purpose as soon as the feeling arises. To actually translate it into words or action is in fact harmful for our own self because the contemplation of action unnecessarily elongates the time that the feeling of revenge needs to be there in our mind.... the original feeling of loss or damage then lingers on as the instinctive feeling of revenge gets converted into an urge or desire for revenge. The urge or desire for revenge harms our state of mind and can even have side effects on our body.

revenge is bittersweet....

at first glance, it feels good. it feels great to give off payback. it feels like standing up for yourself and making whoever made you feel bad feel worse (because you'd believe the person deserves it). you show less mercy and become coldhearted on purpose because you feel pain is the essence in payback.

it's bitter because when you realize the extent of the damage you do, it ends up hurting you. the regret comes eventually and nags your conscience. you'd become restless and guilty eventually. you then realize that perhaps taking revenge was a step that wasn't really worth it.

revenge is a powerfully dangerous thing. it's a poison for both the person it is intended to be inflicted on and for the person dealing it out.

Sometimes I want to get even but in all reality it is better to sit back and watch for the day when a person gets back what they gave.

Your a better person because you didn't have to get even in the end. Your conscious is clear but joyful. We reap what we sow.

It is best not to do it at all as it is pointless. Revenge only brings about rivalry and enemies.

It is neither. It is a poison for the soul which is like a little green worm that eats at you until it destroys you.
