Try experimenting with it! Try putting it on in different styles, only top, close to eyelashes, all the way. Or try drawing it higher in the outer corner of your eye. Try drawing a line on top and on bottom but a very faint one. Depends on the colour and shape of your eyes, also try experimenting with different colours. For softer look use dark eyeshadow instead of a pencil.
There are so manu different looks you can achieve! - in the end you'll find the one that suits you best! Good luck! :-)

Eyeliner should go on the outside of the eye to give the appearance of larger eyes
You should put the line 3/4 along the eye at the bottom and 1/2 way across the lid
Hope this helps!!

This will definitely help!!

1)Get comfy
Get comfy. Sit in front of a magnifying mirror with your elbows resting on the tabletop. Gently pull your eyelid taut with your free hand.

2)Apply
Start from the outside corner and work inwards, applying the eyeliner as close as possible to the lashes.

3)Kohl
If you're a kohl girl, try this look: gently pull your lid away from your eye with a finger from your free hand.
Using a soft pencil, apply a line to the inner rim of the upper and lower lid, from corner to corner.

Tips
• Don't worry about getting it right first time - practice makes perfect.
• If you do go a bit wobbly, clean up with a dab of concealer or cotton bud.

Products
• Bourjois Liner Anceau Liquid Eyeliner

• No 17 Perfect Definition Eyeliner pencil

• Rimmel Professional liquid liner

Kohl eyeliners are the best and I prefer using a more blunt eyeliner because it gives more coverage. Also it's best to warm it up a bit, as if it is dry it can hurt and it dosen't apply as smoothly. First pull down the lower lid gently and apply from the inner corner gradually working outwards. (Go over it a couple of times for a more dramatic look.. which is actually in at the moment. 60's!!!) I also do my top lid, above my eyelashes. Its best to have a sharper eye pencil for this. Shut your eyes lightly and pull the eye lids taut at the outter end and again working from the inner bit apply the eyeliner as close as possible to the eyelashes working out! Thats how i do it, but if you want a more proffesional source then:

well, if you're a novice at putting on eyeliner, then invest in a sharp black kohl pencil. Then gently follow the line above your eyelashes on your upper lid, making a thicker line towards the end of your eye (furthest away from your nose if that makes sense). You can make flicks on the ends, very 60s. Then using a kohl pencil make a thin line along your lower lashes. Once you become better practiced at applying you can invest in a liquid eyeliner for a more dramatic look. however this requires more accuracy!

Hi Ya if you have not used eye liner before can I advise useing a dark brown powder eye shadow and a eye shadow straight fine brush. Apply just below the bottom lashes (it is alright if you touch them) then just above the top lashes. This gives the eye's a soft smouldering affect like the models in the mags and easy to remove. Once you have mastered this( you can also use blue's grey's greens) then it will be eaisier to apply eyeliner which quite frankly is old hat now.
Hopes this helps

well it really depends. some ppl like to just have a bit at the top or alternativly just at the bottom.

TOP TIPS:
1. to make your eyes look bigger use white eyeliner on the pink bit of the eye and then the darkest part as close to it as possible.
2. you should always sharpen the pencil before every use as this gets rid of harmful bacteria that may have rested there
3. to make it easyer to sharpen the pencil, leave it in the fridge or freezer over night.

I read somewhere that if you look down into a mirror, it's a lot easier to put eyeliner on your top lids. However, I'd agree with the first answer - go to a cosmetics counter for expert advice!

if you are using liquid draw a line from corner to corner, i prefer to go from outer to inner. At this point it does not matter if it is a bit thick and wobbly just get it as close to the eyelid as possible. Then get a cotton bud, slighty damp and run it across the line corner to corner again removing most of the excess liner, this will not remove all the liner but will leave you with a perfect line!

i put eyeliner on the bottom outside lid of my eye to make them look bigger, then i use a dampened cotton bud to neaten the line, if you want to put it on the inner lid i would advice that you make sure the liner is sharpened so you avoid scratches from the pen, hope this helps xx
