Scotch on the rocks. Don't do shots. No matter how many of your buddies are whooping and hollering and trying to get you do shots.
They're stupid. Drink a scotch or a vodka martini slowly and keep your buzz over the night, don't get wasted too fast and make a jackass of yourself.

I must agree with the first answer.
Don't worry about what may or may not be perceived as manly, just order the drink you like best (as long as it's not milk or cherry cola).

If your drinking hard liquor I like to drink jamesons whiskey on the rocks, or wild turkey bourbon on the rocks, or possibly a scotch on the rocks. All of these are great drinks
