The first time US invade Iraq, US were unaware about;
1) there will be no WMD around
2) there will be a lot of casualties of innocent civilians
3) the will be casualties of more US marines
4) the existence of other bigger ethnics than the minority Kurds, which is the Shiites
5) the possibility of relentless civil war,

and another serious possibility of;

6) Removing the Sunnis and grooming up the Shiites and encourage more Shiites people from Iran and across the world will move to Iraq. It will create another Iran, perhaps they will call Iraq & Iran as West Iran & East Iran and soon they combine and form a bigger and stronger two huge & powerful countries.

Do US aware of this possibility? Another consequences of continuous carelessness?

Arzlee, I agree with you all the way. Remember that Iran and Iraq used to be the opposing forces that kept the balance of power in the region. With the U.S. invasion of Iraq and subsequent destruction of its military, the balance of power was altered in favor of Iran (to put it bluntly, Iran gained the upper hand without lifting a finger, thanks to the U.S. "righteous" action). If ever the war in Iraq will be finished (only God knows when), and once the U.S. finally managed to extricate itself from the current mess it created, Iran will turn out to be the dominant power in the region, whether we like it or not.

Look, I can't vouch for American foreign policy these days. Right now the only reason we have to go to war with Iran is that our executive branch disagrees with our own CIA and the IAEA that Iran has a nuclear weapons program in the works.
Besides the broader social implications you present, I don't think the current Road Map (The PNAC) has anything written in it about Iran, so there should be no real threat of invasion until a select group of complete idiots has the opportunity to mull it over. Hopefully the next presidential election gets here first.

Well Maliki is a Sunni and that's no accident. Of course the US is aware of the danger of a greater Iran.
