Lately ive noticed people are only into doing stuff that benefits themselves. When i do a favor for someone that i think i can trust, they sometimes end up ******** me over in the end. I have a small pool of people in my life that i know i can trust, and it seems to be getting smaller as time goes on(as people get poorer). Anybody think im right? people will do anything to get 10 dollars ahead.

I agree. I try to be a generous person. The other day I was walking into the grocery store (mind you, I don't work there) and a man had just finished putting his groceries in his car. I then saw him start to take the cart back to the store and I said, just to be kind, "I can take it for you, I am going that way anyway." He handed me the cart without even a thank you. Didn't even acknowledge me. So rude, I thought. I was clearly not an employee, just trying to be a kind citizen. I don't think I'll be doing favors for anyone anytime soon!

As I told my daughter when a friend of hers did the wrong thing by her and several other girls, you will only find out what sort of a person the friend is when you are both backed up against a wall and surrounded by lions. If your friend doesn't shove you forward then they are alright, but usually they give you the shove.
The three musketeers saying of 'all for one and one for all,' should really just say, 'all for one'.
Am afraid it is sad but true that most people are just not nice and you have to sift through the dirt to find the gold.
