I've always found Filipino's to be friendly, polite, unassuming and huge fans of music and karaoke!
Yes, you get bad, yes you get opportunists and yes you get those who are wary of foreigners - that's a human condition though.
Thumbs up for the Filipinos.

Are you going to visit or are you just asking for general information? Since you asked this question a few times, I assume you didn't believe the answers you got yesterday, so I'll say this:
It's poorer than the US, but has a great educational standard. The people are like people anywhere else, but there are some areas you shouldn't go to, unless you're a pretty tough character. If you just want this information for a book report, tell them you got this from a crazy uncle who has been there on R&R...

i have visited the philippines...the people treat americans like gold....most of them look up 2 us or respect us for no reason....in america u must do something 2 get respect, in the philippines u automatically get it because they think we r rich. filipinos are very hospitable and mostly friendly....the farther u get from manila the friendlier they are, its a different kind of life over there....the men treat there woman like sh*t, they abuse and use them. the filipinas are generally hard working, very beautiful, and have the cutest accents...heh....ofcourse there r the money hungry type of girls there also, but i dont think u have 2 look 2 hard to find a decent woman there. the food is amazing, i havent tasted a dish i havent liked. the beaches are the most beautiful ive ever seen, and ive been around the world. i enjoy the philippines and most filipino people...

im a filipino woman living in cebu, philippines. i would say that the philippines is very much alive and vibrant. the filipinos know how to be happy and how to celebrate. filipinos generally are friendly and hardworking. the key is generally. there are some who arent which is also true for other countries and cultures.
filipinos love to smile. like this :-)

i love Philippines and its people no matter what comment i hear or read both from pinoys & foreigners...like any country in the world it has its own good and bad so as to its people..generally,it s a friendly country,very vulnerable to abuse again both by its citizen & foreigners...people are both hospitable & hostile depending wer u are and in what situation u r in and depends also in how u behave towards them...I am a 100% pinay and proud of it...i feel sorry to some of my countrymen who feels inferior against foreigner esp the americans,they think the aliens are far much better than us..tsk tsk..if they only know how to discover their potentials and mold it and use it for their own good and to the country as a whole...Go pinoys!!!! we can revive Philippines...

they are better on you coz you are americans and who ever foreigners whom they can earn money being respectful and hospitable but not to their fellow filipinos. Filipinos has no discipline here in the Philippines. They are jaywalker. go to manila for you to see. they throw the garbage anywhere. But if they go to US they are very good, law abider. I think that some kind of a inconsistency
I know these coz i am a filipino too, but not like that...

never been there but I've seen so many living where i live....they are either okay or wanna be "super" cool....in this place they are all working in lower jobs so am not pretty sure if they are all like that.....i know that even they are earning so less they have some expensive stuff, hehehe, and i know they love having fun..ALL THE TIME...and they usually have no problems with anything....:)
but the only thing that i respect in them, is that they so what they got to do...professionally, and it was they only thing they do...from workers to receptionist, and so on....
