a 'wholesaler' sells things in bulk (by the dozens to a hundreds or even by boxes or crates) and usually buy them at a cheaper price because of the large quantity purchase. the 'retailer' sells items in retail or in small quantities of course you pay a higher price for an item sold based on per unit/item purchase. sometimes you will see 'wholesaler-retailer'- it's just a combination of both. the customer can choose which purchase option suits him best.
on the other hand, the distributor serves as the middleperson from factory to wholesaler, from wholesaler to retailer and sometimes even from retailer to the buyer that relays and transports particular products to the clients they cater to. nowadays, businesses try as much as possible not to make much use of middlepersons to reduce costs in their transactions.

(The correct word is wholesaler and not wholesealer.)
The chain of supplies from the stage a product is ready for sale till it reaches the ultimate consumer, starts with the wholesaler. The product is sold in bulk to the wholesaler who pays the lowest price due to bulk sale. The wholesaler then sells it to a distributor who generally has rights over a particular region or territory, and gets the product from the wholesaler at a price higher than what the wholesaler paid. The distributor in turn sells the product to various retailers at a higher price than what he paid to the wholesaler. The ultimate consumer buys the item from the retailer and normally what he pays is the highest among all the product costs incurred earlier.
In some organisations, there is no wholesaler or distributor, depending on the demand, logistics of the supply chain, transport facilities, etc.
At every stage, costs are incurred for transportation, local taxes, storage costs, profit margin, etc.

Distributor buys from the factory...sells to the wholeseller...who then sells to the reseller. Most companies cut out the middle man and have their product made in the factory and then drop shipped to their retail locations

pleasant query madhavi:) yOU understand even though those phrases sound synonimous however nonetheless there lies a "deep" change !! Happiness can also be located of matters which would possibly not also be profitable to our religious or mental detail like we would possibly pass out & have our favorite dish & garments and many others., we could suppose joyful. But delight comes from a variety of achievent, if we get well grades in stories we could get a constructive feeling that says "rough phrase paid off" now thats extra profitable is not it ;p[ Now peace.... I suppose it is determined by what angle we undertake towads the "routine" we do for "happiness" or both "delight", peace truthfully exist in our self, it simply needs to be located by way of us. A individual of lack of expertise could suppose peace whilst a rough employee might be strresed. It can also be even oposite to that . So peace demands to located by way of us.

If you know a man who grows rice.
he wants to sell the rice to many people.
He does not have a car or truck to take it to the market.

The rice grower is the farmer.

He needs someone to sell the rice who will buy it?
He calls a man called the "wholesaler".
This man take all the rice to his business and holds it there
and calls a man who has many many trucks called the "distributor".....this man takes the rice and delivers it to many stores called the "retailer".

The rice went from farmer...to....wholesaler....to distributor....to retailer.....then you bought it ...now the rice belongs to YOU...
