Indian Restaurant In Japan

I lived in Otaru, Hokkaido for a bit, they had an Indian restaurant there. I think it did well because there was a small knit Indian group of friends that ate there every single day. The owner of the shop was an Indian man from Melbourne, Australia, and his wife was Japanese. As mentioned, these small stores only have a few tables, 4-6 and maybe one outside. If you have the cash and the connections, Id say go for it.

It depends ... there are already a LOT of them about, and although they rarely close down that doesn't necessarily mean they're doing a roaring trade..! But IF you are a genuine Indian, AND you have other genuine Indians who are willing to join your venture or work for you, AND you already have a visa to live in Japan, then maybe it's worth a try..! It might be a struggle to get a visa just for the purposes of moving here to open a restaurant - and it would take a LOT of scouting around on previous visits to suss out the ideal place! BTW, Indian restaurants here can't get away with charging the abominably outrageous prices they can sometimes charge in Western countries..! A lovely BIG set meal costs as little as 1,000円!! (So don't come here to make your fortune...!!)

I lived in a smaller city in Japan and made friends with the family that ran two Indian restaurants in town. The first was so successful they had to open a second location. It was as popular with the foreigners as it was with the locals, especially the younger generation under 40 years old. Mind you, both locations are small, like a lot of non-chain restaurants- 4 to 6 tables only. Their locations had at least 4 tables a night.
It would depend on the location and I would suggest researching to see if there is a demand and/or room for one in the city.

There have already been some Indian restaurants in Japan. But I've never seen Indian girls. Most Japanese haven't seen them.

I believe it's a good idea to hire Indian waitresses so that we may come your restaurant to see them out of curiosity.

I think Indian girls are very beautiful. So think most Japanese, maybe.
