Global warming is threatening the very livelihood of mankind. Emission of greenhouse gas, coupled with the the continuous growing global population, is causing a huge strain on the Earth's natural resources and the situation is getting from bad to worse. Growing burning of fossil fuels, caused by the growing population, is adding more greenhouse gas to the atmosphere and causing the global temperature to rise. Polar caps are melting at a dangerous rate, adding to the already-rising water level. Floods and droughts are occurring more often and people are killed in these phenomenon. Trees are cut down faster than they are replaced; the air quality is deteoriating. Holes in the ozone layer are allowing harmful UV rays to enter the Earth and causing skin cancer and blindness. We are all living in a dangerous world and must do something to prevent the situation from getting worse. Any suggestions on what we, as inhabitants of this planet, can do and should do to preven the Earth from dying?

I would suggest Leo educate himself about the things that cause global warming:

1) collection of greenhouse gasses (5 largest sources are all naturally occuring)

2) ocean vents releasing the earth's internal pressure/heat

3) solar heat

4) chemical energy transfer

5) My wife's cooking and follow up CO2 drills

(Some people find it captivating to listen to the rantings of environmentalists who seem to think that mankind is contributing to the problem when in reality, our activities are still too small to have an impact. In the 70's the craze was air pollution. I think the same people are going nuts now about global warming, but they had to up the ante to get attention.)

Off the top of my head I would say; stop using plug in air fresheners and two, never sit in line at a drive through.

Unfortunately the real problem is NOT global warming. It is population. If you managed to pass every single worthy proposal and cut back emissions of all kinds by say 40%, The population of the world will increase by more than that in time and increase the number of cars and factories and such per person as the undeveloped nations become more developed.

The answer is not so much in reducing emissions as it is reducing birthrate. Sadly, I do not think we have it in us to do anything affective in time.

Countries, like China, INCREASE the amount of green house gasses produced by ten times the amount that Australia produces. Australia.
India's main problem is the cows that are considered sacred.
Doesn't matter what countries like Australia does, these countries will continue to produce more and more greenhouse gasses.
'Global Warming" is probably a cyclical thing and so what is done to prevent it will have little effect.

Since when does the cause belong to anyone?
Get on to the educated elitist scientists and tell them to start looking at the causes. The earth is warming up but we don't really know
the answers. They do not accept the ancient roman idea that this
planet is a living thing and that it is starting to fight back against our excessive demands on its finite resources

Fact: one lawn mower that was let to run for one hour produces same amount of pollution as 12 cars running for one hour.
