There is really no way to tell. The best we can do is to get information from mulitple sources and determine on our own if there is a general consensus on what we are learning.

No wikipedia is just as trustworthy as any source out there because anyone can change it, but all the other users must also agree with the changes before it is accepted. So it is information for the common people by the common people.

Use sources that are well known or at the very least your sources should come from people with degrees and a good understanding of the topic, like an expert in the field.

Wikipedia - untrustworthy (anyone can change it)
College professor's article - trustworthy (this is their job)'
Also, an article with sources cited (books, other publications) would be more reliable than an article without any sources cited (this person could just be making stuff up)
