That's the point though, I am asking the question to find out WHY nice people are thought of as "guileless" or whatever u said.
I'm NICE and I feel like some people assume because I AM NICE they can walk on me. THIS IS NOT THE CASE! It just gets annoying, I'm not going to stop being a good person because of it, but it does make me think less of others.

I don't think they get thought of as stupid, but gullible. When others see nice people, they think that they haven't seen enough life to harden them or make them cruel, so they must be innocent enough to be taken for a ride.
Quite a wrong conclusion, that is. I've seen a lot of people make such wrong judgements and end up with eggs on their face :))

This is not a bad thing but makes them easier for some people to abuse or deceive.

Because they are humble and have feelings for others, people take advantage of them. Those who look at a nice person as being stupid, are themselves stupid in their thoughts. Its good to be nice anyway, and don't expect people to like or praise a nice person, just continue being nice.

People need to think negatively of others, without first getting to know that person.
If people are calling you stupid, you will never be stupid unless you buy into their views of you.
Being nice in society sadly is looked down upon as weak. Treating people nice is good as long as you stand up for yourself, without being cruel and not allow others to walk all over you.
People who are nice usually are reserved more so then others, not stupid.
BELIEVE IN YOURSELF and let others feel whatever they may.

Nice people are perceived to be naive because some people either take advantage of them or want to take advantage of them. I don't think of someone being nice as stupid. It's the people that try to take advantage of them that are "stupid".

Is my believe that nice, well educated people often are categorized as stupid because, in this harsh, and so violent world, is NOT considered as been "COOL".
"COOL", people are suppose to be harsh, rude with bad manners, abusive, loud, inconsiderate, self centered, violent, greedy, irresponsible and with money from probably illegal business.
And even though, they could be smart, they often use their smartness to be "COOL".(Please reefer to above definition).
But now that you have another view and your question answered, I'll like to ask you one simple question; ...................
Who are the real stupid ones???? So, don't be "COOL"
