Ummm... He murdered a lot of people. He went on trial and was convicted (though only a portion of those murders - I think in that case it was a couple hundred). He was sentenced. And all of this in an Iraqi court and carried out by Iraqis.

He was hung for his injustice to humanity. Do you realize he used chemicals on innocent villages to test the effects so he could use the weapon to wipe out the Curds. Do you realize he alone is responsible for killing more than one million of his own people. Do you realize he would force loyalty in his soldiers by choosing at random their families (and kids) and have his soldiers rape the 2 year old daughters in front of them and their mother. Do you realize he would slice the bellies of children open just to see how long they could live. These are just a few of the things he has done. His hero was Hitler. His atrocities against mankind (and I don't care what race they are) were beyond punishment in this world. Hanging is one of the most dishonored forms of death in Iraq. That is why they choose it.

To keep him alive was not an option.

It is always amazing that no matter that I think that he deserved to have his life snuffed out, I still have a problem with killing anyone. Granted I would have volunteered to pull the lever to murder him, but to take life from anyone is so strange. Every person lives and experiences life differently, but life is so individual. I always try to put myself in their shoes. Granted they actually live life differently than I do, does that mean that they live life better than I do, since they take chances to get to where they get?

Like Shaggy says to Scooby; "It's a little too late to worry about that now, isnt it?"

bc it is the way of his peoples justice. they like the brutality, it makes them feel big. Sometimes hangings are grusome like the other day when Saddams half brother's head snapped off bc the rope was too long
