I was brought up in South Africa. I lived on a farm and my playmates were all black (I'm white). I never came across racism - I've never heard my parents utter a racist comment. Racism is taught and I was shocked when I first came across it. It's not a natural thing.
WE have enough legislation at the moment to protect our society from it. It is people's attitude that is now the problem. We have to teach people to have self confidence. I am not offended if someone calls me a name such as "honky" - it amuses me. This is what we should all strive for.
I heard a lot about the BB show and was quite curious. If the contestants had all been white would we have been offended if they'd called Shirpal "That American" or "The Scottish girl"? But somehow it is offensive to call someone a "Paki" - well, why? Isn't Pakistan a country? Aren't it's people proud to be so? So say it with pride.
It is the ignorant who are racist - why should anyone dislike someone for the colour of their skin? Judge a person by their character. I'd rather be called n***ger than racist.

We cant avoid racism. The whites have a long standing history of racism. Fellows in the UK, Europe, USA are not really racist, they are bloody frightened. Asians, Hispancis are taking over the scene from whence they ruled the roost! They are loosing everything to the so called blacks! Be it entertainment, IT, sports, technology etc. The so called white-supremacy is on a tumble! The fallacy is being torn to shreds! They are loosing their jobs to Asians and they are a worried lot! So this new weapon. Those who are smart enough to recognise this will realise that there is not truth to it! Whites are just not keeping abreast of changing times. The whites ruled every nation in the continent because they were ahead in terms of research, developments, inventions etc. Today the field is levelled out and there are other more competent players !

wipe out every man woman and child from the planet.
Not trying to be sarcastic or crude, Being honest.
as long as there is one difference between two people then there will always be something for the other person to "hate".
I am not saying it is right, it is part of human nature. we are xenophobic. there is no one anywhere who is "colorblind" or can look at some one and not notice their disabilities or their appearance or something.
the best we can do is try not to allow our personal opinions cloud our judgments.
My parents raised me to believe that you don't dislike people as a whole, it is OK to dislike an individual because they have wronged you. but never hold it against the group as a whole.
I have friends of all shapes, races, colors, sexes and sexual preferences. But I can also say I have people I dislike who fall in the same categories.
but if you want truly eradicate racism you gotta wipe every one out.

It is better if you go out from the country you live in now and live in a country where the majority of its citizen are muslims because islamic teaching do not make a different treatment to the race and religion of its people.Islam do not want racism because it is against with Allah's instruction to love and help each other without see their skin color..

too many in society that are racist, sad huh?
racist start young, parents spoon feed this crap into children's head at an early age. I would say education would help, but the damage could already be done by the time the child hits those books. there is no avoiding racism, unless you just want to kill those who are racist, but that's taking it too far.

Avoid people who are racist. The sad thing is, there is no real way to abolish racism all together. The only thing you can do is teach your children, that it is ok to have different colored skin, or wear different clothes, or even have differently shaped eyes. As children, we pick up on those things our parents do, or other people that are part of our day to day lives as well. (aunts, uncles, older cousins, grandparents etc.) Even as teenagers, if any of a teens peers are racist, they might pick up on it, and adopt being racist as "cool."

there really is no way to avoid rascism and thats sad. We live in 2007. people are always going to have something to say and its plain stupid but what doesn't kill you will always make you stronger and i hope that one day the way the world is now that everyone becomes mixed to have many cultures come together and have like jamaican chinese black and indain white babies so that way people who are rascist will have a hard time to figure out what kind of person they hate and racist people are STUPID so they cant be racist anymore cuz they will be confused.
