I often stay awake until the early hours of the morning (3 or 4am) knowing that I have to be up kind of early the next "day" either for school or work. As the late night approaches, and I know I should lay down, I feel compelled to be awake. When I go to sleep early it feels as if I'm being robbed of my free leisure time. Occasionally I pay for this the next day as I experience annoying tiredness... Anyone else ever go through this?

Yes and still doing it. There is only one thing I hate more then going to sleep at night. That's getting out of bed in the morning.

Wow, I had no idea there were so many night owls out there. It's too bad we can't all find time to live our lives as we'd like to...or maybe we can.
I was always told that it was unhealthy and yada yada but some people's mental clock runs in a different time-zone.
I get tired around 7-8 but if I went to bed then I'd be awake at 2am, yippee. After 10pm it's like I get a second wind and often stay up all night and the following day. This makes for some interesting hallucinations, caused from being over-tired.
Seems to me it's a no win situation; either I'm over-tired or over-slept. Ah well, life goes on.

The bane of my life; Insomnia.
I do this all the time, regardless of how early I know I have to get up. Every night, I say to myself, this time I'm going to go to bed at a reasonable hour, say, 11:30 pm. What time is when I finally turn my comp off, or shut down the television?? 2:30, 4:00 am. Stupid, but can't stop myself.
Yep, I do that.

my favourite time of day is pretty much around midnight. it's when i feel the happiest and the most creative. plus i'm not really a people person, so this time of night is when there's no one around to bother me, which i think is the biggest reason why i like to be awake in the early am hours no matter what time i have to wake up.

cheers,
Shauna!

Absolutely. Even though I want to go to sleep, and can barely stay awake, I force myself to stay up. I don't know why.
