The handwriting will be on the wall when the actual announcement to move is made. Even then a move decision can be reversed. Much of what you hear is positioning by the pens' organization to pressure Pittsburgh city politicians and state politicians to rethink their position on arena funding. They have spent a bundle on Football and Baseball stadiums. The question is.....whether they will fund a hockey arena or let the franchise go. Politicians will wait for sentiment and the Pens organization will wait for the politicians while continuing to search for a new home. The new home search is pressure on both hockey fans and politicians. If the pressure becomes unbearable for the politicians they will act to keep the franchise. So.......what does that tell you? Get the ball rolling and don't wait for a move and it's too late. Call your city counsellor, state representatives or anyone who could have a say in keeping the Pens in Pittsburgh. The last hockey franchise in Kansas City didn't make it. NHL Hockey has been in Pittsburgh since 1968, nearly 40 years. Don't stand by if you want to keep it there.
By the way....I am an Edmonton Oiler fan and live in Canada. I want to see the Pens stay in Pittsburgh too.

It is because Rendell doesn't really care. After this mess I have an opinion of him and it isn't good. I never thought much of him because he mostly just held the line and maybe he was helping the State but I didn't see it doing much. Anyway while Ridge was Gov. Mario was brought him to his golf tournment in 2001, which was about Labor Day. So add two and two and you can see where the timing stunk. Anyway he did get Ridge to put some money aside, but the money wasn't in the budget yet it was in a set aside thing. The money never got released because the Gov needed to sign it out and Ridge never got to and the replacement choose not to for the sake that a new Gov was going to be elected soon, so it stayed aside. Rendell WOULDN'T release. Then this crap where they pissed off EVERY team in the region with where they gave the license. The Pirates and Steelers DON'T like where the Casino will be built. This was the worst idea. Anyway here's hoping SOMEONE comes in and offers the money privately or something. I just don't see Mario taking the "Plan B" because he doesn't like the City Officals or the idea of taking money from Taxpayers.

I'm going to miss them also.Pittsburgh needed a new arena before it needed a baseball or football stadium. It is the only venue that could have used year round.I don't blame Mario for having to move because Pittsburgh strung him along for years.I just can't imagine a Kansas City Penquin's team,

Garry Bettman and the NHL doesn't care if the Pens stay in Pittsburgh just as long as the team stays in the U.S. and NO i don't want them to leave cause the Pens have been there for 40 years and it's not right and they have great fans that have supported this team for many years bad or good.

just get a ticket to the game it doesn't matter if your dad is in the air force.

i don't want them to leave pittsburgh. it's a great city. i don't like any of the prospective cities. winnipeg had their chance with a team. texas doesn't have enough fans to have 2 teams. kansas city would compete with the st. louis market, seattle with vancouver's, hamilton with bufffalo and toronto's. las vegas is cool but is there a demand for hockey in the desert ?

Hate to say it, but the City of Pittsburgh didn't support the team. Now they are in danger of leaving. It is too bad.
But, every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end...

I want them to be in a State of the Art Facility, If Pittsburgh can't do it somebody else will, Kansas City, Houston and Winnipeg is their only options.

part of the problem is that Pittsburgh does not want to spend any more money on a new stadium

plus Mario Lemiuex is trying to sell them if Mark Cuban bought them most likely they would stay

I don't think that any team should leave from where they've originated from. its sad that they are willing to move teams to different cities. and for what? lose a fan base? or gain a bigger one in a bigger city/state? I think its stupid!

if the fans cannot support the team they should go where the fans will.
