I'm going to have to say that Heathe Ledger is the better choice. I've heard that in he Dark Knight its more about the jokers eyes than is smile or laugh. If they picked Pitt they might as well pick Jim Carrey or George Clooney.

Im not so sure about Brad pitt as the Joker, but im not so keen on Heath Ledger either. it is important to remember that Bob Kanes Joker was in fact older than Bruce Wayne in the original Batman comic strips.
then again i wasnt so keen on Daniel Craig to play Bond, but he was awesome. So i would rather wait for the film to make any judgements about Ledgers quality as the Joker

I disagree, I think Ledger has a creepiness about him that will make it work.
Pitt is too pretty and charismatic, he doesn't really come across as the right kinda crazy as you need for the Joker.
Just based on two performances, 12 Monkeys and Fight Club show me he'd make a great riddler (waay better than Jim carrie) or Two face. Really, he'd be a good, younger Commisioner Gordon (sorry, don't remmebre who played him in Begins)

I don't think either is a good choice. No one will be as good as Jack Nicholson was and they should have used another villain instead of using the joker twice.

No one will ever be able to play a better Joker than Jack Nicholson though.
