Yes it is- but it might be a bit tainted by the mould. Some people are more susceptible to the taste than others.
I was a microbiologist and the only sort of fungi growing is going to be Mucor sp. or similar and nothing harmful.
I would cut it off if you need to eat it.
I ate some two days ago.

I read somewhere that mould on bread is actually safe to eat, it just doesn't taste very nice. Personally if you are desperate then pick the mouldy bits off but if not I would go and get a new loaf!

Most Westerners have lost touch with what your body can handle.
Cut off the worst or all and toast it. You may still have a 'musty' odour when you chew it though.

The mould is okay as long as it's Blue/green. If black or Red/Yellow then do not eat it.

Just cut it off,it wont hurt you,it may have a stronger taste.my old granny(god bless her)always used to use mouldy bread in our bread&butter pudding,Never harmed us and I`m 83.

oh my tat would mean mould growing in the bread.bacteria may be present and that may cause food poison..

Yes you can pinch off the mold and it is perfectly O.K. to eat.

Please, do not eat it.

Food that has something growing on it is not safe to eat. You will not know what is growing and what else is going on.

Likewise, don't eat over-ripe fruit or other stuff in decay.

well if you are ilgeric to penicillin then yes it unsafe to eat, else it is safe but not advisable.
