Here are my issues:
It's winter and cold as outside.
I'm a sahm and my hubby has the car during the day so the gym is out.
We're still trying to move and our apt. is way wee and I really don't have room to work out inside due to the baby explosion.
My son is going through that "DON'T YOU DARE PUT ME DOWN" phase.

How am I ever supposed to get back into my pre-preg clothes under these conditions? (and yes, I'm watching what I eat and drinking water)

Luisa: thank you, but it is a priority. If it weren't I wouldn't be asking for adice.

Beer. lol: Cute ideas. I hadn't thought of using my baby as a weight. I'm kind of scared I could jar him too much or something, though :/ I'll ask his pediatrician.

Use you infant as an exercise machine!!, I'm a stay at home dad who has gain some (holiday.. ya that's it) weight. I've been using my son as a weight for lifting, and he loves bouncing in my arms when i hold him and job in one spot listening to his kiddy music. Their are all sorts of neat things you can do together that will tire you out fast and help loose some of those un wanted pounds. Good Luck!!!

Checklist: Ways to Sneak In Exercise
No money to hire a trainer? Can't make that class? No time for the gym? Don't fret, just break into a sweat. Here're easy ways to sneak exercise into your busy day. (And yes, running to your favorite boutique counts.)

___ Take the stairs. (Bonus points if you carry a child.)

___ Be a kid. Break out the jump rope and hula hoop.

___ Mix it up. If you always jog, go for a swim; if you're a yoga fan, try Pilates moves.

___ Work out at home to an exercise DVD.

___ Demonstrate to your child how to skip, hop, gallop, etc. She may not be able to follow, but your legs will feel it!

___ Park three lanes farther than you would have, or walk to the farther bus stop. Better yet, hoof it to your destination.

___ Chase your older kid at the park. Give her a 5-second head start.

___ Two words: Mall strolling.

___ Improvise a belly-dancing class. Put on Shakira or similar music and start handing out the scarves to your older children or partner. Now, shimmy!

Also, there is a video at walmart called PeeWee Pilates... it costs about 13$ see if your hubby can pick it up for you before he gets home!!! also, taking the lil one bundled up for a walk won't hurt just around a couple of blocks...beside you will need the fresh air. and be sure to drink plenty of water!!!!!!!

I hope you're breastfeeding because that's by far the easiest way to knock off the pregnancy weight. It's still easier for some women than others (I was able to wear pre-pregnancy jeans a little over a month afterwards, and I tell you that's not the easiest thing for a 38yo).

You won't hurt your baby by holding him in your arms while you jog in place, but you might hurt yourself since it throws your center of balance off. I wouldn't recommend it. I know many people who've injured themselves using weights that were meant for exercising, using one that isn't is asking for trouble.

Also, if you're breastfeeding, dieting isn't a good idea. Best thing to do is stay active (HA! like your son will give you any other option), eat healthy foods instead of junk, and drink lots of water. Not drinking enough water actually causes you to retain water, which is the last thing you need after giving birth.

First, don't you dare waste the first three months after delivery. Your metabolism is very high to keep up with the baby. Holding the baby makes things harder but burns more calories and what I did is clean. A lot. I cleaned all the time and did laundry and breast fed. I have had two pregnancies, gained 45 pounds in each and was back to normal within 3 months. Don't be lazy, don't lay around because you're tired, and for god's sake, get up and move every month after the first three it will be that much harder to burn the weight.

Give it a little time and it should eventually come off. That's what I did. But walking around holding your baby and (this may sound silly) I would put my little one in his stroller and push him around our tiny little apartment when he cried, and just doing that for ten minutes will help you burn off a little weight, I'm sure. You may feel silly, but babies love it whether you are inside or outside.

Give it some time and if you are truly watching what you are eating and drinking, the excess weight should eventually come off.

Too bad your apartment complex doesn't have a work-out room, because I would recommend putting your little one in a bouncy seat while you run on a treadmill or cycle on a bike . . .

Good luck! And congratulations on the little one!

That's funny. I was just going to ask if anyone else is having this problem!!

I'd type some more, but I'm afraid I'll wake one of my 2 lil' ones (in the room w/ me).. they hear the keys.. (2 babies under 2)..

More 2morrow.. ;)

Boy, you sure are full of excuses! When it's a priority for you, you'll find a way.

Get a pilates or exercise video and do it while your son naps. Also browse Craigslist for a used treadmill - walk while your son naps and you watch your favorite show.
