this musical is actually one of the original sci fi movies.
if you watch and listen carefully you will realise that it is about an alien species called transvestites that came to earth from a planet called transexual. it is actually the lines of one of the songs sung by the head transvestite. it also is deep down trying to show that transvestites are from another planet and should be feared as was the perception back then

Rocky Horror Picture by a long shot. It's so hilarious and original. High school Musical is just something that was made to satisfy the tweener generations need for mindless entertainment.

To really apprceiate this movie I suggest dropping two or three hits of really good acid. Or like the rest of us just look at it as a good way to end the career of a film star before it really gets started. Susan Sarandon may have gone on to better things but Tim Curry and Barry Bostwick ended up stuck with parts that were either small, stupid or on TV(Spin City's mayor for example). It is really cool on acid though.

I can remember being a little kid and going to the movies and when they showed the previews of other movies, all there was for this one was those lips and teeth speaking. I said, "MOM! lets go see that!" and she said, "NO!" Then I was a teen ager when this started the midnight movie thing. However I didn't see this until 1990 and afterwards I felt like I understood how punk and new wave happened. It wasn't right or wrong, it just was. Thats how this movie is to me. It just is.

Queen left out one little detail. You need to see it live. Find out if there is a midnight showing in the area. The movie alone, while really interesting for it's time, is actually pretty boring. The audiance participation is what makes it fun.
