My bunny is a 4 month old polish dwarf rabbit. I dont see her often as I'd like to, and I hear rabbits are social creatures. but I also dont want them to fight. I have a doe, and she is very nice and sweet. I'd be getting another female.

Will my rabbit prefer another dwarf rabbit, or could I get a lop or a lionmaine rabbit?

Females might fight. I'd get a male and neuter him.
I had two rabbits who were companions to each other. I had the male neutered, as it was a simpler operation than spaying, and rabbits don't take too well to medical procedures.

They got along well. They still mated frequently, and the female would go through "false pregnancies" where she'd get all "nest-y" and shun the male for a few days ... but for the most part they were wonderful for each other.

My female rabbit got killed by a raccoon last spring (I thought the enclosure was secure, but no), so I have gone out of my way to spend some extra lovin' time with the lonely male. He's become quite fat and affectionate.

i wouldn't get 2 rabbits, first off a doe who has been in her own cage for while considers it her territory, if you add another rabbit they may fight and hurt each other, rabbits are actually solitary animals, not social animals. also a a polish dwarf is not a breed, just a mix. There is also a lionhead not loinmane lol. just thought i would let you know that

Yes, if you do not have much time for your bunny, it'll be nice to get her company so she will not be lonely.

Your bunny is still quite young, so it shouldnt be that hard to bond her with another. It is easier to bond 2 opposite sex bunnies, but you will have to sterlise one of them. (you do not wan a litter of babies!)

I believe your rabbit will have no preference abt the breed of the new rabbit you're getting, but i'm not sure if the difference in size will cause a problem. If they're both frenly, there shouldnt be.

Remember to introduce them on a neutral ground (meaning, not ur current bunny house, coz she will be defensive of her home). You may find out more tips on how to bond them from:

Rabbits enjoy companionship as do other animals. As long as the rabbit is the same sex, it will be beneficial for the other rabbit to have company. I would suggest the same type of rabbit. They tend to live longer. There will always be a dominant one, and that is all right.

It relies upon how previous your rabbit is, it may not be solid concept to get yet another rabbit because of the fact the rabbit you have have been given now could be aggressive or jealous in direction of the different rabbit and act very dominant, bullying and probably hurting the different rabbit. yet once you have purely had your rabbit a pair of days it will be ok. Your rabbit should not be lonely in case you spend assorted time with it, so do not trouble approximately it being lonely : ) wish it facilitates : )

Rabbits socialise very well but do not practice birth control; watch out for the iminent population problem if you pick her a partner. Ask the vet for assistance if problem arises.

I bet you they will fight. Rabbits can get pretty teritorial. Definitely don't get a male rabbit, or you will have many many rabbits to worry about later.
