Is there a gay drama gene that other guys don't always get.
(This Q was brought on by an email from a gay friend who didn't come out til after HS, but I was remembering he was always very dramatic and had lots of outbursts in HS)

I know some mean who are much more dramatic than most women... I'm asking what causes it. yes, it's a generalization. So shoot me, we all have to generalize sometimes. Thank you for those who took the Q seriously.

If you are seriously wanting a potential explanation here it is.

By the way, not ALL gay guys are dramatic. That would be like saying all black people are fast, or all chinese people are smart.

Back to your question, some gays are dramatic simply because it is a mechanism that develops due to being in the closet and hiding your emotions for so long.

Some people, after being held in the closet for so long, become much louder, and colorful after coming out, almost saying to the world and the community, I'm not embarrassed, in fact, I won't hide in the shadows and be a wallflower, here I am.

The overexaggeration can be seen as a form of personal expression, and individuality. A trait also seen in many gay men.

You are only thinking about the stereotype, your friend was just as dramatic as any straight or gay guy could have been.
I have know a lot of gay guys that aren't the slightest dramatic and the very dramatic straight guys.

Personally I know a lot of gays (men and women) and Bi's and to ask why gay men are so dramatic is like asking you why blondes are all dumb, or brunettes are all boring...it's stereotyical and rude.

Some do it because they know that all straight people expect it...so...yanno...aiming to please...

As for his outbursts in HS...he was a teen...he had raging hormones just like every other teen did...boy, girl, straight, gay, bi didn't matter...they were all the same hormones...and yanno what...in HS we were all DORKS TOO!! (again...same hormones)

if you believe the environment theory then as boys they are trained to be like you, or girls. if you believe in nature not nutuer then they have a similar physiology to you, or girls. compound the dramatic predisposition with having to defend yourself ALL THE TIME and presto! gay drama queen, or hetero female.
BTW: not all gay men are dramatic.

it truly is fairly immature once you consider that gay men got here out of a vagina at one aspect lol. also insulting a persons' genitalia is amazingly stupid and quite demonstrates how idiotic human beings might want to be. I hate it even as lesbians say penises are disgusting and vice versa with gay men and vaginas. enable's be grown ups, shall we?
