Oh yeah. My wife and have a 4 month old already and DO NOT want another one so soon.
She does not want anything with estrogen being that breast cancer is in family history.

They're great. Fairly easy to insert, rare for it to fall out or anything to go wrong, works really well, get it and forget it. Follow the doctor's instructions and enjoy.

Yeah! I currently wear one. I LOVES IT!!! My boyfriend and I don't have to worry about getting pregnant at all. I've had it for over 4 years. There are yearly options, 5 ys or 10 years. I truly recommend it!! I even recommended it to a friend but unfortunately she wasn't able to have it because it gave her an infection. (don't know why) but not me, i'm fine with it. The only problem is that I don't get much of my periods anymore, this is something that my friend who is a gynocologist nurse practioner says is normal. You have to get it checked yearly if it moves but that comes with regular pap smear check up. Has your wife ever had kids? Doctors say that it is very painful after insertion (the IUD is the size of a quarter) for women that haven't had children because their uterus hasn't expanded. I've not had any yet but I was able to take the pain which lasted 1-3 days. SO, I would suggest she have it done on a friday so that she may rest throughout the weekend. They'll give her motrin for the pain. I am so in love with this type of birth control because I don't have to worry about getting pregnant. Oh Yeah, sometimes the guy can feel the IUD string but my bf says its rare. Good Luck!!

i have simple copper one. can't say anything bad about it. there is also hormone one, but a woman can put on some weight using it so i decided to take ordinary one. period can be too heavy during first 2-3 months after installing it, then it becomes normal. your woman and u will have to watch your hygene - wash before sex and immediately after, cos if a woman has iud she is prone to infections. i have my second iud now, they put it for 3 or 5 years. after that time u have to remove it, make a few months break and then install it again (doctor does that). good luck

my friend has one and she loves it, now they have hormonal ones too which give you extra protection and they last a really long time (I forget 5 or 10 years) Has she considered Nuvaring? I use that myself and I absolutely love it, if you've never heard of it and are interested I think it's nuvaring.com . IUD's have greatly improved over the years so don't let people discourange her from choosing one if that is what she wants. good luck!
