what can i do to get to sleep?!?!? i cant get to sleep with out a t.v so i have my t.v on and i am kinda tired but not always! and i tried to just close my eyes and fall asleep but it dosent work!!?!?!? and i am not taking any meds!!?!? please please help i want to go to sleep!

stretch and yawn it makes you feel tired then lay down and you will fall asleep.

The reason you cannot sleep, is because your mind is not being allowed to "switch off". Put off the TV. I moved mine out of the bedroom in fact, for the same reason. It's addictive! Give yourself a limit to which programs you MUST watch (like CSI!), and limit yourself to a certain time for sleep. Once your body gets into a routine, it gets easier. For instance, I go to bed at 9 every night, read a bit, and get sleepy. If I go to bed later - Bad news!

If you don't want to get some meds, then try this :

1. Have a warm bath with Lavender in. The lavender promotes sleep. You can either get a Lavender bath oil, or even better, Lavender Essential Oil (try your local pharmacy)

2. Drink a glass of warm milk once you are in bed

3. Read a few pages of a GOOD book, whilst lying down.

After a few pages, your mind starts to relax and you will slowly start to feel sleepy.

I have been an insomniac for YEARS, and find that this really does help. If it doesn't, I suggest you get yourself some meds to help you. You can buy some relatively decent stuff, non-addictive, over the counter.

Sarge had a good suggestion but if you cant do either of those things right now try counting sheep lay down no tv no lights close your eyes and count sheep backwords or trying saying the alphabet starting from Z that will bore you into sleep lol

u know i used to have the same problem until i forced myself into a better routine.i used to stay up very late,and i used to feel like **** all the time.My appetite was horrible and i was missing out on what was happening in the morning.so one day i was talking to my brother(he stays up late to) and i told him"**** man i cant keep ******* doing this"so on that day instead of sleeping through the day i stood up.i was up for at least 18 hours i was so tired i couldn't keep my eyes open i couldn't even sit down.i waited until it was about 9 to 10:30 to fall asleep.i made my brother wake me up at 7 which is the time i prefered to be woken up, before i used to sleep very late .i still woke up tired but i kept to it .i felt more energized and i was able to do things i normally couldn't do cause i slept through it.i spent alot more time with my fam and by the time 10 around 11 came i was dead tired.the reason why i used to stay up very late is because i dont get alot of alone time someones always in the house or someone near you i used the night time to do things i liked to do like play games watch movies and stuff whatever i couldnt do in my busy *** day.u shoud try it ,it might help oh and dont think about taking pills cause the moment u take them u wont be able to live without them and well... thats horrible

If you have a work out before you go to bed you will get tired and want to fall asleep do something like jogging or other intense cardio exercises.

I have the same problem..thing is i don't want to sleep early..cause all the shows i like to watch are on late..but if you do.. you need to get ready for sleep..you know..dim the lights..make your body feel like its about to rest..i suggest you turn off that god damn tv!Try taking a warm shower... anything thats relaxing..or just read a few pages of a book..

They've proved that they same reason you fall asleep after eating turkey on Thanksgiving, is in warm milk. Try drinking that. If it taste bad, add a little sugar or vanilla extract. Hope it helps you out.
