University life is vert stressful. Most of the time you need to do your own research. Students just after G.C.E 'O' level may be too young to be in University.

Yes, the papers did mention that students can go straight to University after the O Levels. However, that are for the students who went through the special program offered by those secondary school such as Hwa Chong Institute which offers higher studies program for their student in replace of the O Levels and A levels program. It also meant that you may have to study more and put in extra effort to ensure and secure a placing in the University. For other students who couldn't get into those institute will just go through the normal path, taking their O's then proceed to either JC or Poly before moving on to Uni finally.

In my opinion, whether the JC education is important/relevant or not, it really depends on you. You will have to find out and decide on what you would like to do/study. Good Luck!

JC is still the route to Uni... for the majority

Normal or Smart Students cannot skip pre-u, only Very Brilliant Students may be able to take that route.

I think thats only for the super smart.

JC education will lay a very good foundation for your future road to Uni and if you do not plan to further your education in the Uni, please choose polytechnic education instead.
