To tackle , every induvidual should think first that he should not give bribe. You and i only cannot change india. It is on every induvidual to come together and fight against curruption then only we can change, until then this system will be going like this only
Like every drops of water combine together can make a river. Every induvidual without being currupeted can make india a free currupted india. We are now world no 3 in curruption.

It is going to take a lot to get that under control and anyone who takes up that banner, I fear, won't live long enough to make even the smallest dent. The problem with your country, and so many others, you have suffered from countless years of corruption. It is part of your system, from social to government. The most corrupt place I have ever been too is the Philippines. Never been to India, but have heard it is just as corrupt. In the USA we have a different type of corruption. Its in the form of donations to political campaigns which results in favoritism by politicians. That is one of the reasons we have a health care system that is the most expensive on the planet, along with a military industrial machine that exports, at the very least, 36% of the worlds arms. Honestly, I do not know the answer. Corruption is a very powerful and greedy ally and people who would not otherwise be inhuman, are reduced to that kind of monster. The only way it can be done is to change societies acceptance along with very powerful laws that do not accept non compliance. That can only be done quickly by a wholesale change of your political system and the people being really pizzzzed off. Peace Jim .

Well, I'll take a crack at this.
I believe that corruption will never be completely destroyed, due to the fact that you cannot control people and how they react in certain situations. But there are probably steps to reduce or prevent corruption such as not to sound cliche but go over morals and have stricter rules and come down hard on everyone who is corrupt. Nowadays it seems if your a celeberity or a high ranking official you are not hit with the book quite as hard as say the average person is. Also I would think the media could definetly help by investigating people in high power, because if they are constantly being watch they will probably think twice about trying to pull a fast one. I'm not sure if you guys agree, but those are just my thoughts.

You didn't mention if you live in a democracy. If so, the best message is not to vote for those who you know are corrupt. The message should go that corruption does not pay in the long run. Otherwise, unless swift punishments are given out - through the legal, electoral or any other effective process - corruption will persist. A transparent society discourages corruption. And we as citizens too perpetuate corruption - don't we - by bribing people to get our work done or done out of turn?

there is only one solution to the corruption today. we just have to remove the corrupted person from the post and give it to someone else. if this is the done for few times it will be a great step and the corrupted people will think twice before taking the bribes.

Get that Ekta women who is busy creating so much trash on television to do a storyline about it. Emphasizing the negativity of the whole thing and have a popular character "solve" a corruption situation. As everyone is hooked on those serials, there will be a mad rush all over the country to emulate said character. Problem solved. It takes two to tango one to be corrupt and one to hand over the bribes. If it's seen as a socially negative thing to hand out bribes, it will stop rather rapidly.

There are so many ways to check the corruption in the country:
1. One window dressing - There should be one window, means 30 to 40 windows at one place, to receive various types of applications, complaints and time bound replies thereto should be given at the same place but at different window to reduce rush.
2. Grab the power - meaning thereby say for Traffic Police, they should only manage traffic and not challan. Challaning should be given to others.
3. Manpower Audit in every Department and shouldering responsibilities and a check on them.

Outlaw Lobbies. Enact Meaningful Campaign Finance Reform.

Give the debates back to the League of Women Voters.

Put rational limits on the $ amount spent on Campaign. Put rational rules in place to make sure those involved in Campaigns are not neglecting their constituants to do so.

Little things mostly, but close to the heart of the Power.

Time is everything.

The shrub has already bought us our next War.

Corruption like fluid finds its own level. A stage is coming when a mother wants bribe for nursing and a wife and husband have to bribe each other for sex..All will realise the importance of honesty and change their style. Law is nearly worthless in India to eliminate corruption.Bridegrooms used to cost a fortune and the brokerage used to be good. Now it is bride`s turn to bargain tough.
