Have you ever think that your virus scanner or spyware scanner could be the culprit? Personally i use Avast! and AVG antispyware with a zone alarm firewall with spyware. Use all of them 3 to get the malicious malware out. I suggest booting in safe mode to do a comprehenseive scan. You will find the culprits..^^

Were the problems there before you ran the spyware?
Some free "spyware" programs actually puts spyware and popups on your computer - they're either trying to get you to buy an upgrade or they can have more sinister motives.

I would get a different spyware program and run it, but make sure you get it from a reputable download site like:

http://www.tucows.com

They check the programs before they offer them. That way you know your safe.

I use Ad-Aware. It was one of the freeware programs at tucows. Works good for me.

Download HijackThis! It's a small program which will let you find the processes that are hijacking your computer and let you remove them.
