This isn't a baited question. So whatever your views of climate change are in relation to the views of right-wingers (of whatever experience) are welcome. I just want to know, do you think, or disagree, that irreversable man-made climate change is happening -right now?

You know, that person with the crown avatar had me going for a minute.... I was happy to read some other causes for the climate changes, etc. Then it started in about liberals, and self-righteousness, etc., and I just got angry. First of all, I have never seen anyone as self-righteous as an "I know everything about everything" conservative. Also, the lack of concern for future generations displayed by the macho @ssholes who feel that have to drive huge, fast cars is just beyond my comprehension!

There are more people on the earth than ever before, using more questionable products than ever before. We have no idea of what this will do to the earth and atmosphere, but change it will!! It couldn't help but to change!

Greed, and "me-first" attitudes will kill us all, one way or another. (Even if it is just because we insist on taking someone else's natural resources because we "need" them to fuel our chariots.)

But, maybe when the race of man is dead and gone, the earth will return to pristine beauty.

I think everyone is pretty unanymous that there is climate change, what conservatives are concerned with is that there are a lot of scientists who are saying that its not going to be as cataclysmic as some are predicting and that a lot of these pople (like Al Gore) are exploiting the peoples fear of climate change to get money/publicity etc, and the scientists are doing it to get funding. A lot of scientists also believe that joining the Kyoto protocol wouldnt change much because the amount of Co2 that is man made is 5% or less. We all know we are having a global warming trend, and that it is different than anything in recorded history. The sun is also going through a particularly war period which is why all the other planets are also expeiencing warming trends, there are no SUV's on other planets. I don't think we should ignore it but we should not make it another Y2K type hype. Remember in the 70's all the thousands of scientists said there was an ice age coming soon, now its the opposite.

I don't believe the current climate change is due to human pollution. Tell me consistent temperature records of the 1100's, 1200's, 1300's, 1400's 1500's, 1600's, 1700's, 1800's or anything else before the 20th century. Give me the temperatures of 300 BC? What do you have to compare these records to? Remember the Earth is over 4.5 billion years old, we don't have records of all this time. The Earth and any planet goes through natural climate changes. What caused the ice age or the global flooding in Biblical days (Yes there is evidence of a global flood around 1200 BC) Humans are not as powerful as you think, the Earth controls us, we Do Not control the earth.

I believe that the climate is shifting in a warmer direction, but I do not believe it is caused by man. Instead, I believe the same reasons that caused the last few ice ages to end are happening now, a simple global warming that is natural, the same global climate change that caused a shift towards cooler climates in years past

Yes.
.
Of course it is reversible.

In hundreds of years.
Or thousands.
Or whatever the physics works out to be once the CO2 level and the Earth's natural cycles are restored.
.
According to the Geology Prof at Carleton University, we should be entering another Ice Age in the next few thousand years.

They should. It's darn well happening. We're in the longest drought we've evener seen and it still hasn't broken. I cant remember the last time we had heavy, sustained rainfall.

If you look at photos from my area from12 years ago a look around now you can see the difference. Ever thing is dry now. The grass, the trees. Everything.

Climate change? Yes. Man made? Don't know yet. Worried about it? Not really.

I disagree. Man has very little impact on the climate. What we are experiencing, in my opinion, is cyclical climate changes.

I have NEVER seen anyone denying the changes in climate.

the reasons it is happening are what we disagree with.

L:iberals take into account their sensitive little feelings of wanting to feel superior by pretending to save the planet. We take into account facts, such as:

-over 80% of greenhouse gasses are caused by volcanic activity.

-methane gas from livestock is responsible for more greenhouse gasses than ALL OF TRANSPORTATION

-ice caps on mars are melting at the same rate as the polar ice caps on earth.

SO TELL ME. WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING? SHOULD I DRIVE A PIECE OF CRAP TINY VEHICLE SO I CAN PRETEND TO BE MORE IN TOUCH WITH MOTHER EARTH THAN YOU?
