Nope.

If, when you joined, you signed something saying that they can charge a certain amount for not returning your uniform - then they can do that. But NO it's illegal for them to hold your tax forms hostage.

No he shouldnt. What does uniform has to do with your wages? If he thinks the uniform is very important to him the he should ask you to go buy another one for replacement. Or he deducts the difference from your salary, but first you should check on your employment terms was there anything concerning the uniform? and even if there was he should only deduct the cash for uniform and give you the rest

no way! you must get your w-2 (the one you send into the governmental bodies with your income tax returns) forms, i believe, by the end of january. it is against the law not to prove the income that your employer is reporting that you made and the taxes withheld!
