I used to cheat all the time on my wife. I loved her then and I love her now. When I was doing it (10 years ago) I did not understand, but now as I look back, it is crystal clear. I have done a lot of soul searching in this regard, so do not take this lightly. It may NOT be what he feels, but it is truthfully what I felt then and what I know now.

I cheated because I was afraid to trust her. I was afraid that if I didn't cheat that I'd find out she was cheating. I was afraid of being disappointed, again.

AND.....and this is important.....

I knew I loved her, but I was afraid that I wasn't going to be good enough for her, long term, and that I had to protect myself by NOT putting all of my eggs in one basket.

That may all sound like complete bull to you, but God strike me dead right now if I'm lying. And to sum it up, I cheated because I was INSECURE. The same reason women cheat. INSECURITY is a killer.

I'm over it now. I have accepted loser status and thank God that I still have her. And yes, I confessed everything and she just keeps on loving me. Only difference is now I am able to appreciate her. I hope this helps.

Some in this forum said insecurity was the reason for cheating. And I agree with that. I feel that secure individuals do not need others to validate the kind of person they are. A secure person absolutely knows who they are and what they want out of this life. Besides fellas being with one woman is more than enough work for you if you are a guy with a plan and a career "As I feel all men should have" . To have two or more women only complicates matters.

Yes. There is no such reason as "I don't know why." I cheated on my girlfriend before because I felt like I was sexually frustrated and lonely. Add to the fact that I was clinically depressed and I had my reason.

1. Just to spite the woman they're with.
2. Emotionally unstable.
3. Insecure.
4. Angry.
5. Horny.
6. Depressed.
7. Bored.
8. Promiscuious.
9. Don't really love the one you're with.
10. Hungry for change.
11. A reason for a break up. (Intentionally)

These are a bunch off the top of my head. Hope they help.

He knows exactly why, he just doesn't want to admit it. (I know you said only for men that have cheated, but I felt compelled to answer anyway.) It's easier to say "I don't know why" than to say "I'm a ******* horndog and you weren't giving it up enough, so I had to go somewhere else." And 99 times out of 100, men cheat because of sex. "Oh, baby, I just love you so much, I wanna prove my love" - that's a damn lie. It's not about love - it's about sex. If someone you're with needs to cheat, you need to not be with that person - he's obviously more concerned with himself than he is with you.

it's simple the other woman have something you do not,or there better than you are in some way,or , very rarely, we just get really board with the same old thing, like if your a skinny Blondie maybe he would try a chunky brunette etc. There's always a reason Even if its week like maybe you accused him of cheating to many times so he actually did.my modo is IF I DID THE TIME I"LL DO THE CRIME!its like pre paid punishment!

I think we say we don't know because its easier than saying the truth. After a guy admits that he cheated, he's going to be in a lot of trouble. Why make it worse by saying he cheated because he doesn't find you attractive anymore, or because you don't satisfy him anymore. Guys know why they cheat, they just don't need another reason to make their gf/wife more upset.

Men just have a higher sex drive then women have, to some it means nothing to have sex with someone else because, they claim they still love their wives and having sex with another woman is only a bit of pleasure on the side. Don't forget men are from mars and women are from Venus. I don't understand them either!!

Sex, excitement, feeling the passion and lust for life that hasn't been shared with you spouse in years. It is all very addictive and like drugs, hard to stop once you get started.

9 times out of 10 it is because they are dissatisfied w/ how things are going at home. the other 1 out of 10 is to see if they still have "it".
