If you're 5 weeks pregnant, then implantation has already occurred, so that's not what this is. Red blood is a warning sign in pregnancy, especially if there is any cramping (brown and light pink blood can be okay and normal). You need to call your doctor and describe it as exactly as possible, as this may indicate that something is wrong.

Okay, implantation bleeding occurs exactly when the egg implants into the wall of the uterus, so it's not likely to be that. Being that you're "about" five weeks pregnant, and it is red and brown, I would think that maybe you're having a mini menstrual cycle. If it's freaking you out that bad, call your doctor, because proper prenatal care is vital! Good luck!

Get yourself off to the doctor, inplantation bleeding happens earlier than 5 weeks so it should not be that.

Not meaning to worry you but that is what happened to me a week before i miscarried,I also had no pain whats so ever and it wasnt in till the 8th day of bleeding that i even needed to wear a towel. although i was probably 6 weeks. Their are other things it can be. But just assume all bleeding and pain not to be normal, and put your mind at risk.

I would call your doctor just to ease your mind. If you start experiencing unbearable cramps, period-like bleeding, large, baseball-sized clots, fever, or fluid leaking from your vagina, you need to go to the ER.

It's normal to have some spotting, and you're around the normal time for implantation bleeding, but if you want to be sure, I would go ahead and call.
