Is having two baby showers a bad idea??

Question

Say someone already has one child. And then they get pregnant again later on down the road 1-however many years down the road, and the unborn baby's sex is opposite from the first child. Is it ok to have another baby shower or is that something that is just not done?? Wondering because a friend of mine wants to have another baby shower for the little boy she is having so she can get boy things.

Overall it is ok. Some would say it is more recommended to have a "come meet the baby" party after the baby is born but my opinion is that if 3-4+ years have gone by then the person probably doesn't have any baby stuff left so they are really in need. Also yes having the opposite sex does affect things too because then she can't reuse clothes. Someone I know put down "gifts optional" or something like that on the invite so people knew they could still come celebrate without gifts (of course they all brought them anyways). My sister had a baby shower for her 1st in 2002 then she had another baby 6 months ago and had to have another shower to get stuff again because so much time had gone by.

I see nothing wrong with having a shower for each baby. Mainly because there are different types of baby showers. Sometimes it is just to show off the newborn and celebrate.

I think another baby shower its just fine especially if its a different sex. Baby stuff its always needed!

I think it is fine. I know plenty of people that do that. Also i know people that will have 2 baby showers for just one pregnancy like one for the wife's side then one for the husband's side.
