Everything in the world would be affected.
From waking up in the morning turning on the lights...to going to the car wash that uses a computer to regulate the amount of water used. Everything we do depends on a computer program.
We always thing of using the computer for entertainment.
That is nothing compared to our dependency on it for our food sources, utilities, military needs, prison systems, the list just goes on and on....how we spend money using the ATM's and the debit cards. If we went back to check writing the banks would not be able to keep up by doing the paperwork by hand. It would be the end of the greatest way of communicating...and going back to the old ways of doing business for everyone.
I wonder how many businesses from A to Z are prepared for such a thing. It could happen tomorrow or next year or never.
It's like the weather and nature's actions tsunamis, earthquakes and floods we have to roll with it and try to climb out of the disasters and prepare for future problems from what we have learned from the loss of the Internet.
When the Internet first came on the scene there were backups using paper but I don't know at this time if there are computer disks stored in warehouses that keep all governmental and the business worlds records safe. I have no idea. Maybe someone might know who is in the business.
Very interesting question.

The economy would crash everywhere around the world. Many many people would lose jobs. Cooperative business ventures across oceans would fail. The result could easily be a war. Or people starving to death.
It would be a very bad thing. The Internet isn't just for fun, it's now a basic system for the worlds' business.
You might as well ask what would happen if every ship and airplane vanished. Same deal.

I was at work as a waitress one day when our restaurant computer crashed...half the wait staff didn't know how to write a plain ticket, or add a bill up...it was surreal. I think people would run into walls or just sit on the ground and cry in frustration. The rest of us who can add and improvise would pick up the slack til we were back online again lol.

pink or purple. Purply-pink! Purple- The color of royalty, purple connotes luxury, wealth, and sophistication. It is also feminine and romantic. However, because it is rare in nature, purple can appear artificial.Purple combines the stability of blue and the energy of red. Purple is associated with royalty. It symbolizes power, nobility, luxury, and ambition. It conveys wealth and extravagance. Purple is associated with wisdom, dignity, independence, creativity, mystery, and magic. According to surveys, almost 75 percent of pre-adolescent children prefer purple to all other colors. Purple is a very rare color in nature; some people consider it to be artificial. Light purple is a good choice for a feminine design. You can use bright purple when promoting children's products. Light purple evokes romantic and nostalgic feelings. Dark purple evokes gloom and sad feelings. It can cause frustration. I guess because purple was the first thing that came to mind, it was because I (and some others) thought of the rarity of which *magic* dissapearing smoke would actually happen in nature and because it is associated with magic!

Well, you'd have huge natural disasters due to millions of servers exploding "in a puff of smoke" at the same moment. For example, giant earthquakes and extreme global warming would occur.

World banking would collapse, power grids would go down, there would be mass starvation, governments would fall, and for a short period of time anarchy would reign.
Too much depends on it anymore.
