Do you know that the government has passed legislation allowing private contractors to condemn your property and "improve" communities at will?
One man's eyesore......!
I feel this is a HUMONGOUS OUTRAGE and I think it should be a platform for the presidential nominees to rally around!
Can this be a non-partisan issue?
Do we all agree to agree!!?

I think you should do some more checking into this yourself "Bettysdad".

The law was put into effect in early 2006.
Not just the government anymore it's "Private land developers" who have that right now also!

So if you live in a small community let's say and a land developer from a larger community comes along and decides they want to take you property and build a "New and Improved" Subdivision to improve the economic base of the community.....They legally can!

yes, you are right, and individual states and cities have been able to do this since the white man built the railroads Betty, And not to offend but the Chinese, Irish, Black etc., actually did the labor for pennies. But the government was in on then too with the Pinkerton's as the law enforcers. Jesse James and family, the Younger bros., billy the kid, and guess what they weren't wrong to fight back either. But they were considered criminals? The Feds now will work with the states because the banks have more land than cash since Bush spent it all and there is something else you don't realize they are promoting no interest mortgages and low mortgages and every low mortgage to all those foreigners right now we are in a Depression, just because we have credit cards does not mean we have cash?

Yes. And here is the reason why in brief:.

This occurred when the Federal Reserve Act of 1912, by Senator Aldridge, was signed into law. It gave the banks the authority to take land away when you haven't paid the "note". This in turn, eventually gave the banks, as well as, the federal mongrels and corporate connivers, the right to take over privately owned property for the sake of "public interest".

It has nothing to do with our interest, it has everything to do with 'interest' (money owed on a debt & money earned) earned by the 3 former scoundrels for capitalism at our expense.

I am wondering where you got this info from.
I am aware of eminent domain, but I think/thought it was only federally initiated, and also the property has to be compensated for to the owner.

that all being said, donald trump was trying to build a new casino in Atlantic City, NJ and clean up the southern end of the strip. Apparently one lady fought this and her old house still stands, or at least did stand last i heard. It was given eminent domain status, but i think she took it to court and won.

Also, if you can claim the building to be demolished as a landmark, they can do nothing about it.

as for the presidential platform, although this could be serious if everything you say is true, i think we have bigger fish to fry.

Well, as expected, you are completely wrong.

There was a Supreme Court ruling applying to 1 case that upheld 1 municipality's actions.

There is no such law, and the problem has not occured anywhere else.

This will be brought up in the new congress, but bug your representatives.

Yep, do you know why? It's because of the large support of foriegn investors that buy land here.

Also you allegedly get reimbursed, however, most people still end up owing money.
