I was amused by your question, I am a Mother-in-law to five sons-in-law and two daughters-in-law, as soon as one son or daughter got married I would go and have a heart to heart talk with them and tell them that if my son or daughter loved them and now that they became a member of our family, I considered them my son or daughter because there would be no distinction between them. If you really want to get into your Mom-in-law's good graces, my advice to you is to be yourself and never enter into an argument with her, or try to have your ways be known because it depends on how possessive she is of her son and would try to cause trouble between you and your husband. Try to be as nice as you possibly can, and tell her that you love her son a lot and would try to be a good wife to him and from there I hope she is a good mother and would try to make you feel like a part of the family. Good luck to both of you and I hope you will be together till death do you part. I have been married for 48, going into 49 yrs. come this June, and could not be happier.

Just be yourself...she needs to learn how to love you for you! Eventually she will too...just give it time.
