I don't think it can, but checking. There is a phone I like, and it's unlocked, but not sure it can be used on my network. Thanks.

The main difference between CDMA and GSM Cell phones are the radio interface they use. CDMA phones use QPSK modulation and GSM phone use GMSK modulation. This means that a CDMA phone will not be able to "understand" the GSM network and viceversa, even if they operate in the same frequency.

All GSM network (Cingular, T-Mobile as well as Nextel) require sim cards on their back of their phones. However on CDMA network, no sim cards are needed on all their phones.

So technically, you cannot use a CDMA phone to be used on any GSM network because a sim card is required for all their GSM phones.

You are correct, you cannot use one technology on the other network.

Why would you want to use Cingular's network anyway. geez????
