God is the sum and substance of all things.
In this sense, 1 + 1 = 1
God is the source of all things, therefore God is the sum of all things.

In the universe there are only three things: here, there and what's in between. Here = x. There = y. What's in between = z. Therefore x+y+z= sum of all things.
