Apparently this is because pay was early in December, so now there is a longer than usual gap between last month's salary and this one.

I plan to eat all the weird or not very appetising things I have been rejecting for a while out of the freezer.

This was a story from BBC breakfast this morning, and presumably it is calculated on averages. So that is where I got the idea for this question, as it struck me as something interesting to share/discuss.

Shall I just ask a "Funny or not?" question instead?

I thought this was a cool question..I've made me dinner rather than spending £3 in the bakers..the usual Wednesday night takeaway is gone for a burton and I'll just bang me normal numbers on the lottery and forget the lucky dip... bloody hell I've saved a tenner!

Half the point has been left out of the question! To clarify: today is the day that most people will get their bills (assuming they don't pay by monthly direct debit). The heating bills will be high because it's the middle of winter (though it has been extremely mild so maybe not such a bit hit this year), plus there's all the Christmas spending on the credit cards. To add insult to injury, because many people get paid a week or more before Christmas they have longer to make the December wages last out for - I think they said the average is 44 days between paydays rather than the usual 30 so that the average disposable income this month is £270 which is 1/3 less than usual.

Anyway to answer the question I pay by direct debit and I only got paid on the Friday before Christmas instead of the 27th so I'm no more badly off than usual! However, I'm on a New Year diet so I do hope that I will be able to tighten my belt in the not-too-distant future!

i just heard that on GMTV apparently you wait approx 44days between the wages u are paid in Dec and the ones you get in Jan!!
i have spent all my wages already because i was paid early and don't get paid till next week!!juts gonna have to do with out, taking a pack up instead of getting lunch out!and will be staying in over the weekend.i have been trying to walk this month as well so not had to put as much petrol in my car.
Hope you find some treats in your freezer!!

My belt is as tight as it will go,in the uk some people dont have the luxury of wages , fridge is now empty.heating off, no lights ,just sit and wait,, the p/c works on two candles , that provides a bit of heat..
