The Cayman Islands were colonized from Jamaica by the British during the 18th and 19th centuries, and were administered by Jamaica after 1863. In 1959, the islands became a territory within the Federation of the West Indies, but when the Federation dissolved in 1962, the Cayman Islands chose to remain a British dependency. Located in the Caribbean, three island (Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, Little Cayman) group in Caribbean Sea, 240 km south of Cuba and 268 km northwest of Jamaica .

No the Cayman island and Jamaica is located in the Caribbean or the West Indies. These are 2 seperate islands that have nothing to do with each other.

The Cayman islands were governed together with Jamaica till 1962 when Jamaica became an independent commonwealth country. The Caymans remained as an overseas territory of the United Kingdom.

No. Many years ago they were run by Jamaica. But now relations between the two countries are such that Caymanians need visas to visit Jamaica and vice versa.

nope - its a ways off .go to a map ,i think its further down . its very nice ,clean and the 7 mile beach is the best part . ignore Hell attraction ,not worth it (boring zzz)
