How does one become a film archivist?

Are there courses on film preservation and restoration, or do the folks who do that sort of thing learn on the job?

I've always noticed that most archivists have a master's degree in something. I bet that goes for film archivists too.

You would need to know aobut how to restore film.

I would get in touch with UCLA to see what they may offer in the way of suggestions
