Is it OK for actors/actresses to be elected in case they run for any government position? Why?

There's no reason an actor can't run. Politics is so much showbiz anyway, sorry.

one huge advantage is that they are already known by the public. also, generally actors and actresses make a living by looking good, and good looks are a benefit to being elected (i.e., ronald reagan, arnold schwartzenegger). a disadvatage is that many people feel that actors and actresses are shallow and unintelligent, so they have to overcome that stereotype.

The good: everyone knows them

The bad: everyone knows them

With the media attention on today's celebrities, there is virtually nothing that is being shown/written/heard about their activities. Because of a lack of private lives, they will not have any secrets. That can be considered good, but also bad, depending on what their past actions have been. It all would depend on how forgiving their constituents will be.

We wouldn't know if they were for real or just acting.
